Well I reckon we're talking about my underwear again.

Never thought that'd become a regular subject around here.

But then again I never thought I'd be selling the damn things either.

Yet here we are.

For those of y'all who ain't been around very long, I'll give you the short version.

Somebody asked me if I'd sell em a pair of my worn underwear.

I thought they were fucking with me.

They weren't.

We talked about it.

They made me an offer.

And I thought well hell.

They're my drawers.

I can always buy more.

So I sold em.

That should've probably been the end of the story.

It wasn't.

## THEN MORE OF Y'ALL STARTED ASKING

Another person asked.

Then somebody else.

Then people started asking about shirts.

Socks.

Hats.

Shoes.

Apparently there is a market for Joe Durst's dirty laundry.

Who knew.

After I got a few requests I finally figured it'd be easier to put something on my website instead of having people trying to ask me in Facebook comments where everybody and their damn grandmother can read it.

So I worked it into **JoeDurst.com**.

Nothing fancy.

You go over there.

You send me a request.

I get it.

I write you back.

We talk about what you're looking for, what I've got, what you're wanting me to do with it, what it'll cost, shipping and all that shit.

If we work something out, we work something out.

If we don't, we don't.

That's pretty much the whole damn business model.

I ain't got a warehouse full of used underwear.

Jesus Christ.

It's just me.

I wear shit.

Sometimes somebody wants it.

I sell it.

I buy more shit.

Apparently I've invented recycling.

## YES. I ACTUALLY WEAR EM.

And yes.

Since y'all ask...

**I actually wear it.**

I don't go buy a pack of underwear at Walmart, rip the package open and mail it to somebody claiming I wore em.

What the hell would be the point of that?

You want new underwear, Walmart's got a whole damn wall of it.

Go nuts.

What I still don't completely understand is why anybody wants mine.

But I don't really need to understand it.

That's where I think some people make life harder than it needs to be.

Everybody thinks they gotta understand why somebody else likes what they like.

I don't.

You're a grown adult.

I'm a grown adult.

If it ain't hurting anybody, I don't give a shit what gets you through the day.

Hell, the world's got enough people walking around worried about everybody else's business.

I got my own shit to worry about.

## DO I THINK IT'S WEIRD?

I've had people ask me that.

Hell, I don't know.

Probably.

Some people collect baseball cards.

Some people collect shoes.

Some people got 37 damn Stanley cups sitting in their kitchen.

Some people apparently want my drawers.

I ain't judging any of em.

Especially that last group.

They're paying me.

Besides, I'm the dumbass putting my underwear in a box and taking it to the post office.

So I don't exactly have the high ground here.

And honestly, I'm 40-something years old.

I've reached the point in my life where I don't spend a whole lot of time worrying about whether somebody thinks something I do is weird.

You don't like it?

Don't buy my underwear.

Problem solved.

That's one of the nice things about America.

Nobody is forcing you to own Joe Durst's drawers.

At least not yet.

Give the government time.

## AND NO. TUCKER AIN'T INVOLVED IN THIS SHIT.

Somebody asked me that before.

Absolutely not.

That's my son.

The boy's got enough to deal with having me for a father.

He don't need a position in the family underwear business.

Matter of fact, let's never call it the family underwear business again.

I regret typing that already.

## SO HOW THE HELL DOES IT WORK?

Pretty damn simple.

People send me requests.

I answer em.

We figure it out.

Sometimes they buy something.

Sometimes they don't.

That's it.

Underwear.

Shirts sometimes.

Socks.

Hats.

Whatever I've got and whatever somebody happens to be looking for.

I don't keep some damn inventory sheet hanging on the refrigerator.

It's just whatever I've got available at the time.

## MAYBE NORMAL AIN'T ALL THAT NORMAL

I'll tell ya something else.

The whole thing has actually taught me something.

People are a hell of a lot more interesting when you quit deciding what's normal for everybody else.

I get messages from all kinds of people.

Different ages.

Different places.

Men.

Women.

People you'd probably never guess would be interested in some of the shit they're interested in.

And I kinda like that.

Not the underwear part necessarily.

Well.

The money ain't bad.

But I mean people being comfortable enough to just say what the hell they want.

There's something to be said for that.

Life's short.

You're gonna spend enough of it doing shit you don't wanna do.

Going to work.

Paying bills.

Sitting in traffic.

Talking to people you don't particularly like.

If something harmless makes you happy, have at it.

I ain't your pastor.

Although after Sunday's prayer I may technically be qualified now.

## SO YEAH. I'M STILL SELLING EM.

There.

That's the underwear story.

Or at least most of it.

If you're curious, there's a place on my website where you can send me a request.

It comes to me.

I'll write ya back.

And we'll go from there.

If you're not interested, that's fine too.

There's plenty of other shit on the website.

Go read something respectable.

Actually...

I don't know if there's anything respectable over there either.

Good luck.

JOE DURST

YEP. I STILL SELL MY DRAWERS.

You wanna ask about underwear, a shirt, socks or whatever else I've got?
Send me a request. I'll write ya back and we'll figure it out.

Never thought I'd have a button on the internet for people wanting my underwear.

But I reckon I've said that about enough shit lately that I oughta quit being surprised.

Anyway.

I've got shit to do.
